Conference Proceedings
General information
ICMB-XII is cooperating with the International Association for Open Knowledge on Invasive Species (INVASIVESNET- https://www.invasivesnet.org) on publication of conference proceedings. Currently INVASIVESNET has three open access, peer-reviewed international journals:
- Aquatic Invasions (est. 2006; 2023 Impact Factor: 2.2),
- BioInvasions Records (est. 2011; 2023 IF: 1.5), and
- Management of Biological Invasions (est. 2010; 2023 IF: 1.5).
INVASIVESNET journals already served as publication platform for ICMB proceedings: ICMB –IX, ICMB –X and ICMB XI (in press). For ICMB-XII, we will publish a special issue of Management of Biological Invasions focusing on academic and applied research of invasive species. Of course, all research in the area of bioinvasions has implications for management, and we ask contributing authors to discuss these implications in the Discussion section of their papers.
Guest Editors for the special issue: Dr. João Canning-Clode - MARE-Madeira; Dr. Paola Parretti - MARE-Madeira; Susanne (Susi) Schäfer - MARE-Madeira
We encourage all ICMB XII participants to submit their research manuscripts for publication in the conference proceedings.
Editors for the Special Issues
Responsible thematic Deputy Editor-in-Chief for the special issue – Dr. Amy Fowler (USA).
Submission Deadline and Review Process
The deadline for manuscript submission is January 31, 2026, and authors should use our online submission system for each journal. Within the cover letter, please state that this submission should be considered for inclusion in the ICMB-XII special issue of Management of Biological Invasions. Please see Author guidelines before submitting your manuscript. Accepted papers will be published online 2-3 weeks after the publication decision (although time to completion may vary due to delays in reviewing times, revisions of manuscripts, and the need for several rounds of reviews) All papers will be reviewed in accordance with the usual Management of Biological Invasions review processes and cannot be assured of acceptance until they have met the standards for peer review. The guest editors will manage the special issue, although the Deputy Editor-in-Chief for ICMB proceedings retains the final decision on the acceptance of papers and will work closely with the guest editors during the editorial process. If a submitted paper is authored or co-authored by a guest editor, that submission will be handled by a different guest editor.
Article Processing Charges
Information on article processing charges (APCs) is available at the journal website. We will offer a regular 15 % discount for APCs for all ICMB-XII participants, and also additional discounts for INVASIVESNET members (see https://www.invasivesnet.org/registration/ to register and join the Association). If you have financial constraints and need support, please contact the managing editor of INVASIVESNET journals, Dr. Vadim Panov directly.
