ICMB-X 2018

ICMB Xth Conference Proceedings

General background

ICMB-X is cooperating with the International Association for Open Knowledge on Invasive Species (INVASIVESNET) on publication of conference proceedings. Currently INVASIVESNET has three open access, peer-reviewed international journals:

  • Aquatic Invasions (est. 2006; 2017 Impact Factor: 1.976)
  • BioInvasions Records (est. 2011; 2017 IF: 1.189)
  • Management of Biological Invasions (est. 2010; 2017 IF: 2.037)

In 2017, Management of Biological Invasions served as a publication platform for the ICMB-IX proceedings for the first time (see the special issue here).

For ICMB-X, we will publish two special issues of INVASIVESNET journals to highlight research presented at the conference:

One in Aquatic Invasions focusing on academic research of bioinvasions

Edited by Drs. April Blakeslee, Carolyn Tepolt, Alejandro Bortolus, and Evangelina Schwindt

Dr. April Blakeslee

Dr. Carolyn Tepolt

Dr. Alejandro Bortolus

Dr. Evangelina Schwindt

One in Management of Biological Invasions focusing on applied research of invasive species

Edited by Drs. Xavier Pochon, Anastasija Zaiko, Fred Wells and Joana Dias

Dr. Xavier Pochon

Dr. Anastasija Zaiko

Dr. Fred Wells

Dr. Joana Dias

Responsible thematic Deputy Editor-in-Chief for both special issues – Dr. Amy Fowler (USA).

We encourage all ICMB-X participants to submit their research manuscripts for publication in the conference proceedings.

Submission Deadline and Review Process

The deadline for manuscript submission is March 1st, 2019, and accepted papers will be published online 2-3 weeks about the publication decision (although time to completion may vary due to delays in reviewing times, revisions of manuscripts, and the need for several rounds of reviews). We prefer to carry out our review process via email, as that gives us greater flexibility in dealing with manuscripts. Therefore, please send your manuscript to either mbi_submissions@reabic.net or ai_submissions@reabic.net, along with a cover letter that states that this submission should be considered for inclusion in the ICMB-X special issue of either Aquatic Invasions or Management of Biological Invasions. Please see the Author guidelines for AI or MBI before submitting your manuscript.

All papers will be reviewed in accordance with the usual Aquatic Invasions and Management of Biological Invasions review processes and cannot be assured of acceptance until they have met the standards for peer review. The guest editors will manage the special issue, although the Deputy Editor-in-Chief for ICMB proceedings retains the final decision on the acceptance of papers and will work closely with the guest editors during the editorial process. If a submitted paper is authored or co-authored by a guest editor, that submission will be handled by a different guest editor.

Article Processing Charges

We will offer a regular 20% discount for article processing charges for all ICMB-X-participants, and also additional discounts for INVASIVESNET members (enter here to register and join the Association). If you have financial constraints, please contact the journal, editor, or INVASIVESNET directly.
